A Little About Me

I’m Lorna, a 32 year old writer living in North West England with my husband and my cats. Until two years ago I was working as a primary school teacher and living in Milan, Italy. In 2017 I was diagnosed with a chronic neurological condition called Myalgic Encephalomyelitis (M.E) and my life was completely turned on its head.

Previously a keen runner, cyclist and hiker, I was now unable to work, predominantly housebound and relying on a wheelchair to get around outside. I initially started this blog to educate people and debunk some of the myths surrounding M.E. One of my main goals for the blog is to still continue raising awareness of this illness but it has also become about learning how to rebuild your life around chronic illness, and I have been lucky enough to grow a wonderful community of chronically ill and disabled activists who are joining me in the fight for better care for people with diseases like mine.

I hope you’ll find my writing enlightening, encouraging and, most of all, educational because I’m still a teacher at heart.
